Sometimes, when I use the selection tool, all the windows in Photoshop freeze becoming gray. The problem stops when I release the mouse botton. It is frustrating because doesn’t allow me to continue the selection and I’m forced to recommence. I don’t think the problem is due to the ram memory and neither the video card. Can you help me?

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2000 MHz
MB: ASUSTek A8V-E Deluxe
Viedo Card: Sapphire Radeon X700 pro
RAM: 1 GB
Monitor: Acer AC711

Hm-m-m, I’ve not experienced this in any v of PS. It looks like your system is robust enough to not be the problem. Any odd behaviors with your mouse/tablet, in other apps? I’d look there first – getting the latest drivers and installing them, even if your system reports that you have them already. Maybe something is corrupt there. Next, I’d try the old "trash preferences," trick, to see if there might be a problem there – some pretty freaky goings-on can happen with a glitch in prefs.

Let us know when you sort it out, as it does seem to be a bummer, especially if you have an intricate selection *almost* done.
