I would like to overlay the texture of a wrinkly human skin, on a cricket ball. (Like a Baseball, Leather with stitching) I have good res photos of both. However i want the surface of the ball to remain the same coluor and just take on the textures. Including Hairs.

The steps i’m thinking of taking are.
3d Transform Human Skin And Hair into Sphere
Copy into new Ball image as new layer fiddle round with layers.

Does anyone know of a tutorial that does a similar thing or have any advise.

Kind Regards,

B

I’d advise you to try using a slightly less spherical affect on the flesh. You want it to look rounded… but you don’t want it to look like the flesh is a rubber ball… You want it to retain some of it’s appeal.

try using a luminosity layer setting (or luminosity adjustment layer) for the layer with the flesh.

Please forgive me. I couldn’t resist. 🙂

This is an ideal task for Real-Draw Pro, $55, www.mediachance.com . Oscar is a genius.

No, I’m not associated with them.

Well.. Wouldn’t providing a simple, free solution be more effective for his obviously non-commercial need?

Incidentally, Dave Nagel has a number of free skin/hair textures over at http://www.creativemac.com/

The late Malcolm Marshall had a better way. He just embeddd a ball into Mike Gatting’s nose and they picked the bits out after gatt went to hospital
