I am batch processing a large number of images with a coloured (pink) background. I resize the image, use the magic wand with a tolerance of 20 to select background, change to index colour, delete to obtain transparency which works ok. I then save the action, batch process the folder with disappointing results! some images work others don’t, some backgrounds are transparent, some retain the original colour, does anyone know why? if so I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the pink color may not be consistent – especially if the source images are JPG’s with artifacts. Have you tried your exact same procedure manually on the images that didn’t work in batch?

Another option is to automate cropping the pink out, then increasing the canvas…
