© is accessed with alt+0169. Note that you must use the numeric keypad and that character must be part of the character set in the font you are using.

BOB: Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!
You figured out the problem. I use a laptop and I was using the top row of numbers for alt+0169 and nothing was happening. By locking the Number lock and using the letter keys ( the laptop equivalent to the numeric keypad) as numbers it worked. I do appreciate your help.

Progress: thank you.
arthur, you can also use the character map application from start> programs> accessories> system tools.
Art,
All part of the service. Happy you got it sorted.

You can also make a picture, save it and write an action which opens that pictures copies it to the clipboard and pasts it to your picture.
This way it’s a one step operation all the time.
Or make the © symbol of your choice into a Custom Shape.
Then it’s placeable anywhere you want, as well as scalable, via Actions.

Thank you all for your imput.
After I was able to enter the copyright symbol, I tried using the Photoshop dialog box to enter my copyrightr notice. That was a major hassle. So I simply by-passed that.
I just created a new PSD file with copyright symbol, date and my name . I made that on a transparent background. Then I made that into a brush using "Define Brush". That allows me to access it very easily. Plus I can change the size of the notice and the color if necessary without any problems.
