Is there a tool or a plug-in for Photoshop which allows to show a color distribution chart of a picture in a CIE diagram?

I have never seen such a thing, but if it exists I would like to be able to use it.
There is a program on www.efg2.com which presents a small image with a few gamuts displayed.
The program itself is written in Pascal. Since I don’t own a Pascal compiler, it is impossible for me to work on.
Of course, I would also need the coordinates of the points on each gamut which are also not readily at hand.
I am most interested in being able to compare the gamut of Ektrachrome E6 (Kodak seems to regard this a a propietary secret) with Adobe RGB, etc. Jim

The graph looks like a version of CIE 1933. The one at EFG presents a much larger graphs with your choice of CIE 1933 and CIE 1965(?). The later version is alledged to be closer to average human perception, but the 1933 version in intrenched. As for how he got those particular plots based on what the charts show is more than I know.

Check out the tiffgamut command from argylcms. It will generate a 3d view of an image color gamut that is similar to what you want.

http://www.argyllcms.com/

You will need to install a VRML viewer to view the output, but there are several free ones available.

Yes, there’s some good stuff there, but it takes a while to figure out.
