Can Adobe PhotoShop 4 run on Windows xp Home Edition? I keep getting a message that there isn’t enough RAM to run it although I know I have plenty of RAM. Thanks.

Julee,

That message can also refer to free disk space. Have you got at least 250 Mb free on your c:\ drive?

Also how much RAM do you have installed?

I too have Photoshop 4 and tried loading it to my new system with Windows XP. Error Message in a dialogue box called "Director Player 5.0" says "This program requires at least 3 MB of Virtual Memory to run". I HAVE 2000 MB OF VM SET. I also have 1 GB of RAM, 3.4 GHz processor. This error stop me from loading Photoshop. Is there a patch or update available?

Try installing directly, without Autorun. See directions at: <http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/1bd1e.htm>

Hello

You need the 4.01 patch. You need to set Windows swap file to Min 256 and max to 1.5 times your system ram. You might still get a error message whilst loading, but it will run.

The patch is here.
