I have an image that is on a white background. How do I set the image in Photoshop so that it makes
the White Transparent.

Then I have a different image that I want to put the image with the transparent background onto so that the other image shows through where the transparent color is.

Can’t seem to figure this out since I’m use to using Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks.

Hi there,

1. It depends. If the image is a cut out and the background is white, than the white is the ‘color’ of the transparancy. If you want tot change that, go to Edit/Preferences/Transparency &Gamut and change the grid size from none tot small, medium or large.

2. But if white is really the backgrondcolor, in the sense that for, for example, you shot an object against a white background, then there’s work to be done. Depending on how complex the object is, you’ll have to pick one of the selection tools to cut it out so it is separated from the background. From there on, go to step one.

the second question i don’t understand. if you can be a little more precise, maybe i can be of help.

take care
