hello group,

we scan books in a digitization projekt. We use TIFF and enter some metatags during the scanning prozess. Finally we optimize the images with Photoshop CS.

My question: We use different TIFF tags for detailed informations without any problems.
We also use the TIFF tag "PageName" (TAG 285), but after saving with Photoshop the entry was gone. Is this a known problem and is there any way to
fix this problem?

thanks to all,
Rolf

Rolf,
Two suggestions – add the extra TIFF tags *after* processing in Photoshop; or instead of TIFF tags, store your metadata formatted as IPTC in a Photoshop image resource block, as Photoshop does (contact me, reverse engineer a PS-saved TIFF, or refer to the SDK for details). You would additionally gain the ability to edit those fields in Photoshop’s File Info.
