I get the message that Photoshop 7.0 encountered a problem at startup. Photoshop installed fine and runs in safe mode but will not startup in regular mode. I reset the preferences and still have the same problem.
Appreciate any help.

Possible conflict in resources?. . .Do you have a lot of stuff running in the task bar?
Enough horsepower on your PC? Lots of filters installed? If you still are having problems, try re-installing Photoshop.

Since you can run in safemode, perhaps it is just that your system is a little low on resources…
Just a guess though. . .What are the stats on your PC?

When does it cause the problem? When fonts are loading? This means you have a bad font. Other times might indicate a bad filter or even bad device drivers.

Without more information, we can’t help you. The fact it doesn’t happen in safe mode means something on your computer is causing a problem. (Deleting the prefs was a good first step, but we need more to help solve the problem.)

Photoshop 7 does not load at all it goes to the program encountered a problem before any of the normal startup routines in photoshop begins. This means before the normal photoshop start screen that is displayed while everything loads. This is on an XP system with 15.9 gb free on the drive it is installed on and 39.3 gb free on another. There is 768 mb of ram. There is a Nivida video card that I have disabled the automatic settings on per another fac on the adobe web site regarding gama loader but anyway the photoshop startup never gets that far anyway. What else can I tell you that would help resolve the problem. Again it runs fine in safe mode. I would again appreciate any help.
