Hi can anyon help,
Ive just bought an Laser print a Samsung ML-1710 Im using Win XP with server pack 1 installed. Im having problems printing things in Indesign CS, this is
my first laser printer so Im not sure if this is the norm or what I can do about it. I also
have a cannon I320 which prints ok so the problems lies with the laser pinter. When I wrap
some text around a picture using a clipping path it looks ok and prints ok on the cannon printer,
but when I print it on the laser pritner it dosnt bother with the clipping path. I ve added 2 piccys
in the attachment to explain what Im on about, if anyone can help please give us a shout.. Does this problem happing with all laser printers, and is there away around it ? Or is there a problem with
this new laser printer..

Thanks in advance..

I’ve experienced similar sounding problems – exporting to PDF looks fine on screen for me, but when I do a hard copy I can clearly see a ghost of the original ‘box’ where the image could be clipped. Caused my an awful lot of hassle with a tight deadline. Wasn’t till much later that I noticed there was no sign of it on my film seperations though, so I tend to disregard it now. Rasterizing my PDF into Pshop shows no sign of it either. It seems to be made a little better or worse by fiddling with the rasterisation settings for bitmap output in Indesign, but I’ve never managed to entirely eradicate it. Rasterize in Photoshop and print from there is my only solution at present.

PS please let me know if you find a solution to this problem….
