Hi all following a tutorial but come up against a couple of problems done a page with a gradient fill no problem, then select the rounded box and draw several on different layers all with a drop shadow to the boxes. I then need to select one box with the magic wand which has a white back ground why I try to select this box even with the correct layer selected it will not select the box.

It selects right across the screen irrelevant to what the tolerance is set too after several attempts an error message appears stating cannot use wand on layer as it is a fill layer. Please can anybody help me with what I am doing wrong.

Cheers THor

Fill Layers are vector elements and can’t be selected with the Magic Wand, which only selects pixels. You can rasterize the layer and select or you can Ctrl-click to select the mask shape.
