I’m sure that this is an easy one for some of you. I’m trying to create some buttons for a web site and the buttons are against a non-repeating background. I’d like to be able to save the background without the buttons and the buttons without the background and then merge them together in the table using the background and the table background so that if I need to move buttons around later I don’t have to re-export them from photoshop and deal with different slice names etc. The trouble that I’m having is that when I try to export the buttons without the background, they look like crap. I’m trying to export them as gifs with a transparency but photoshop adds too much dithering on the drop shadow and it really shows up badly.
i.e., the drop shadow looks really huge and blots out the background. You’d
think that I could simply hide the background layers in photoshop and the export the remainder and have transparent pixels remain transparent, but I can’t figure it out.
For an example of the current scheme how I’d like it to look , visit ttp://surtsey.senator.org/~mparker/guildbodywork/index1.html
This is driving me kinda nuts and help would be appreciated.
