What would be the strategy.method for fixing a "hot pixel" using Photoshop?

Is it just a matter of zooming in to about 1600%, selecting an adjact pixel and doing a Patch or copy/paste -or- is the process something more sophisticated than that?

Advice/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can either zoom in, as you’ve suggested, and paint over your hotpixel with the correct color (that you can eyedrop from the surrounding pixels), or you can rubber stamp it out, or even cut and paste if you so desire. But here’s a little tip I’ve found helpful:

1) Run Filters > Noise > Dust & Scratches
2) Adjust the sliders until the hotpixel is invisible
3) Take a snapshot in your history palette
4) Undo the Dust & Scratches
5) Set your history brush source to the Dust & Scratches snapshot
6) On a new layer, paint with the history brush over your hotpixels or any other little flaws.

When used sparingly, I have found this very helpful for this type of image cleaning.
