As I edit text, changes do not appear until I click out of the text tool to the move tool, very annoying, is there a fix?

Agreed – the text tool in CS is VERY buggy!

jeff, might be a video driver issue. to test turn off video acceleration in desktop> proporties> settings> advanced trouble shooting. if it goes away it’s your driver. update from your card’s manufacturer.

john, what are you rambling about? there’s nothing wrong with the text tool as far as i can tell?

Really? According to whom? While there have been some reports of problems with the program, I don’t recall the text tool being among them.

I tried disabling video acceleration no change. Could there be a conflict in Adobe Common Files?

Text is always drawn in the background. If you have Photoshop’s memory percentage set too high, or some other machine configuration issue is causing a performance problem, it could affect the speed at which the background text drawing can "catch up".

It may be due to the font files or it may be just a combination of circumstances, but sometimes changing point size and/or font can cause the most weird appearance on the screen. It does not redraw on the fly. Clicking the tick, top right, to commit sorts it but this is still a bug to me. Just because it hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. WAABT

Your problem has also happened to me John. But, it had to do with typing on a path. I couldn’t see anything happening until I had finished typing a line and then only a part of the line would pop in. It was like having a very slow computer. I was told that not having the Info palette open would help and I think it has. I haven’t done much more in the way of typing on a path since I noticed the problem though, so can’t really say whether it did or not. Anyhow, from now on when I use type, whether on a path or not, I hit F8 to make sure the Info palette is off. I think someone said it had to do with the histogram in the info palette. I guess I could just drag that away from the info part and see what happens. Anyhow, I think there is something going on with the type but don’t know quite what it is yet.
