Hi, all:

Not all software applications can take advantages of new AMD or Intel dual core processors (CPU). It depends on whether or not a software supports multiple data threading or hyper threading. Dual core processor cannot improve the performance of data processing if the software support single data threading only.
How about Photoshop (PS)? Can dual core processors and hyper threading technology help improve the performance of PS greatly? My guess is YES because PS is such a computing intensive application. It should support multiple data threading. However, I am not absolutely sure. Please help.
I am going to buy a new MS Window desktop computer to process my medium format slide film. Each image size is about 340 MB. I am not sure what kind processor and desktop is best to run PS. Much appreciate if you can share your thoughts.
