I often work between Microsoft Publisher and Photoshop 7. When I try to copy something from Publisher into Photoshop 7 to change something, Photoshop seems to open but all I see are the tools and sometimes the layers. I can see what I pasted in the layers menu but I have no document to work with. I have tried resetting preferences by holding down Ctrl, Alt, Shift while operning it and I don’t always get the option to reset preferences. In fact, only once out of 5 times have I gotten the option. I have right clicked the taskbar and choosen cascade but there is no Photoshop document open. I press Ctrl, Alt, Delete and Photoshop is not listed as running. Can someone please help with this problem. It takes a lot of time to reboot the machine just to get Photoshop to work.

What version of Windows are you using? How much memory do you have available? It sounds very much like your system has run out of resources.

First problem: all Publisher is going to copy is a low-rez screen preview.

If it feels like it, that is.

Use external links and modify them.

I don’t know what an external link is. Can you elaborate. Do you mean after the graphic has been modified in Publisher, save it then import it into Photoshop

A graphic should *never* be modified in Publisher. Nor created. Not only are Microsoft’s tools poor, they don’t play well with other applications.

If you are going to use Publisher, use the apps M$ provides. They suck compared to something like Photoshop (actually, they suck, period), but they can at least work together.

it into Photoshop
