Hello,

I use Photoshop CS2 and have the following error:
"Disk error -108 occured while reading or writing to a scratch disk… Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable…"
Followed by "cannot handle your request because of a program error."

Can anyone help or has anyone the same problem?
I have put more memory in (1GB) and it takes longer before the error occurres, but it is still there!
Disk problem? Memory problem?

Thanks in advance,
Hans

Most likely disk problem.

If it’s a WinXP or Win2K PC, right-click on "My Computer" – Choose "Manage" – then "Event Logs" and check the system log for disk errors.

Hello again,

Thanks for your reply!
The disk wasn’t bad.
When I’ve putted more memory it took longer before the error occurred but it dit still did.
I also tried to change the amount of memory used by the scratch disk, but it didn’t help either.
Reinstalling PhotoShop program (suite) solved the problem. So, I couldn’t determinate the exact cause. Maybe one of the plug-ins caused it.

Even with the scratch disk being used on two separate systems, sharing the same scratch disk via a
network works now!

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Your scratch disk is on a network? Guaranteed problems. You shouldn’t do that.
