I don’t know what I have done, but somehow I broke my rectangle tool 🙂 If I try to use the shape tool to do a rectangle, I get a defaul size square, and I have to use Ctrl-t to resize everything. How do I get it back to drawing a rectangle that I design?

I received a response by email, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, it does not help. It is the rectangle tool, that which is selected when you press the U button, not the rectangular marquee.

On the Options Bar, jest to the right of the shapes is a small triangle. Click on it to get a dropdown. Select Unconstrained from the menu.

Duke, when strange things happen like this in PS, sometimes it helps to just trash the preferences and restart PS and see if things get straightened out.

That is radical surgery! Quite a big step to remove a wart. Not something do be done lightly.

Give me a break Gene, this is done all the time and is mentioned in this group as a method of getting things back to default just about every day.

Not necessary in this case.
