Command-Click help

I’m working on a tutorial right now that says "Command-click the layer’s icon to generate a selection around it" and was wondering if anyone can explain that for me?

Essentially I just created a layer and changed the mode to overlay but the command click the icon has me a little baffled.

Any help would be appreciate

Try CTRL-Click on a PC.
