When I click "file open" (or double click on desk top) I get a listing of files and documents. These appear as thumbnails, by default, and when I change the viewing mode to "details" or "list" or anything else, I get what I want right then but on closing and re-opening the window, all files and documents appear again as thumbs. I tried to find a way to set the mode I want documents to appear always, but PS would only show them as thumbnails. Anyone know how I can fix that?

Go to the following page, then scroll down the text "Set Explorer Defaults"

It works for me in the explorer view. I don’t know if CS obeys the settings.
