Thanks all.

That’s a great image!

However, I was looking for an image of one of the "Pylons" from the television series, "Land of the Lost".

I can obtain a common traffic pylon at the local Home Depot. Obtaining a weather-control pylon is not so easy …

Your best bet is going to be to either rent or buy one of the DVDs and get the caps yourself.

Oh…I’m sorry…
I thought you meant that YOU were in the land of the lost. That show wasn’t on when I was a kid.
I wouldn’t know a pylon from a… pylon.
Even if I knocked one over while trying to park.
Sorry.
My bad.

No…you misunderstood me.
I wasn’t saying that I was young…I’m quite middle aged, headed for AARP and a lil chairscooter thingy soon.
I was just saying that wasn’t on when *I* was a kid…it was on kinda AFTER my time. So relax…
Don’t feel so old.

Sorry, I can find plenty of pictures of Sleestaks, but no pylons.

As I remember them, the pylons were kind of a silver pyramid phonebooth-like thing with a diamond-shaped door, and a jewel on top of the door. Is that what you are looking for?

(I feel like such a geek for even knowing *that* much.)

Yes, and they fiddled with the jewels and something happened. A doorway opened or something? I don’t really remember what happened.

I don’t have any pictures for you, but thanks for the memories. I hadn’t thought about that show in ages.

If you were from around here and my age, you’d remember Officer Joe Bolton’s Three Stooges Show, Cap’n Jack McCarthy’s Popeye Show, Beachcomber Bill,
Joya’s Funhouse, Chiller Theater, Sandy Becker Show, Wonderama… Palisades Park!!! (not da show…da place…sorry…floatin’ on a nostalgia wave.) NYC had a bunch of great kid’s shows back in the 60’s!

Yeah, I do remember all of those. Palisades Park was too far away, but Rye Playland wasn’t.

Forgot to mention "The Merry Mailman". Ray Hetherton (Joey’s father) was one of my favorites. And the "Buster Brown Show" ("This is my dog Tide. He lives in a shoe. I’m Buster Brown. I live in there too." or "Plunk your magic twanger Froggie") Remember??

Looks like we were both mistaken about the dog’s name. It was "Tige".

Here’s a link to the BB site if you’re interested. I just found it. http://michelesworld.net/dmm/frog/gremlin/gremlin.htm

BTW – Andy was the second host on the show. Ed McConnell was the first.
