What is the best way to manage a lot of actions??

I can see that I am heading towards having a lot of actions in the actions palette. Is there a preferred way to manage them eg have common type actions under a logical heading in the actions palette.

I need a logical way to easily fine an action.

The only logical way is a system that makes sense to YOU. What is a very logical way for me, is not necessarily also a logical way for you, so you have to define your own logic and create sets accordingly. It’s easy to drag and drop actions from one set to another, so just give it a try. If it doesn’t work out, change it until it does.

Surely only YOU, with a knowledge of what your actions do and are for, can answer that?

You just answered it for me – make action sets. I was messing around with New Actions and couldn’t get what I wanted – New Sets is what I was after. I also thought there might be some fancy plug-in that looks after hundreds of actions in a logical library-type system.
thanks

Just been playing with New Sets.

Would now like to be able to do these few things:
1. List action sets in alphabetical order instead of random and without having to do it manually (this appears to be the only way though).
2. Be able to create a new set and then move existing/other sets into that
new set as a sub-set.

What I am trying to do is list out main set headings/sets (eg ‘black & white’, ‘frames’, ‘sharpening’ etc) and then move other sets (already named by their creator) into these main sets – all for ease of locating.
