I am running Photoshop 7, both on a PC and a Mac. In both cases, when I start the program I frequently get a message box titled "Updating Adobe Online Components from Adobe.com…" It appears to download two files, one of which was AWEDBFiles4.awe, at least the last time this happened and I did a screen capture. Sometimes with the Mac the program hangs while it is doing these downloads.

In reading about this issue, I have set the Adobe Online Preference to never check for updates. Hopefully this will prevent this from occuring again. However, I would still like to know what these files are and why the program keeps trying to download them.

Thanks.
