Hello All,

I’m new here and pretty new to PS. Looks like a great group so will ease a question in here and try to fit in.

Is there a web site, tutorial or publication which illustrates the menus in PS CS/CS2?

I can do pretty well when I can stumble to the right menu to perform some task. The terminology is my biggest problem and spend too much time fiddling through menus.

Thank you

Wickiup

Probably your best course of action is to start with an introductory book on PS. What is it that you’re going to be using PS for? If it’s for fixing up digital photographs you might like to consider Scott Kelby’s "The Photoshop CS2 book for Digital Photographers".

Cheers,

all of it is in the HELP files but for learning I suggest opening an image, save as TEST or whatever…
then run as many tools and filters as you can to see what they do. don’t be afraid you can throw it away later!!
nothing ventured nothing gained.
you will find many creative ideas you never dreamed about reading about PS is like reading about exercise, it is best learned by doing…..

That is probably good advice. I have done a bit of that type of experimenting and gained somewhat.

My biggest challenge in photo repair is the backlighting thing. I take a lot of scenery shots in rather remote areas and timing and sunlight do not cooperate a great deal at times.

You, probably like myself, figgered you could "hack" yer way thru PS and get the desired results…? It’s possible… just not probable.

Few programs are as well annotated as PS, for good reason. If you’re willing to exchange time for money, and I would emphatically recommend you do so, there are a multitude of books/resources available to speed your education.

See http://www.lynda.com/ for starters, then just keep going. —–

Yes, we know patience is a noble virtue but mine could be soothed and my time better utilized if I could find the answer to my initial question: "Is there a web site, tutorial or publication which illustrates the menus in PS CS/CS2?"

Thank you
