Is it true that each time a jpeg image is adjusted and then saved that further loss of info occurs? If so, how can this be avoided? Thank you in advance for any help.

Yes, that is so.

Use another format (TIFF).

Save as TIFF. It is lossless file format.

OK…there are only two times that you want a jpg. If your camera takes them and if they go on line. So bring them into the computer and make a copy in your programs native image format. since this is a PS forum that should meant a .PSD

Now…do all your adjustments and save it. Then, when you need it on-line…then and only then make a JPG. Make a TIFF when cross platform issues might arise. There are other useful formats but those are the most useful.
