how can I make the square brushes appear at the top in the brushes drop-down? (PS CS..) thank you..I don’t want to give you the wrong answer, but save your brush set before doing this. Clear your brushes via the brush window menu. Load your square brushes first, then load all of the rest that you use appending them to the square brushes each time you load them. That "should" work. It has with us in the past.

In the brushes toolbar click the small arrow, choose replace brushes and select square. Then choose load brushes and pick which others you want. The squares will now be at the top of the list.
