I’ve been trying to cut a texture with an Ai. Clip
That’s where I need help.
Say as example I got a ,Ai file of an angel. I want to paste it on a cherry wood texture, cut a cherry angel and paste it on a maple texture.
I’ve tried all I’ve learned but cant do it.
Can someone help?

Trying to understand what you’re doing.

When you paste are you pasting a path?

If so, Ctrl-Enter will turn it into a selection. Then you can copy or cut your cherry angel from its layer and paste it into the maple document.

If it’s coming in as pixels you may have the wrong settings in Illustrator. But you can make a selection from the pixels by Ctrl-clicking on it in the layers Palette and copying it from the cherry layer. Won’t be as clean as a path selection but might be okay.
