The object is to scan an image and then project the scan to on a large screen.

Not really. Photoshop can use the TWAIN drivers of scanners to acquire an image, but this won’t be optimized for your task, and it’ll be difficult to show the image fullscreen afterwards as well.

Why is that, Nicholas? What makes PS inadequate to adjust the image for projection?

Adjusting the image for projection isn’t a problem in Photoshop. For projecting the image, you just want a simple, full-screen image viewer. The editing tools and menus of Photoshop will just be a distraction, not to mention the fact that Photoshop doesn’t have an appropriate full screen mode.

If you want to do this on the spot (Scan and display while others watch), you’ll want a custom program for the job. It’d be a fairly simple matter to write a program which acquires an image from the scanner and displays it fullscreen, all in one step. Perhaps you can find someone that will write it for you.

Oh, I didn’t understand that he wanted to scan and display at once.

I’m not certain either, that was just my interpretation of the OP 🙂
