How do I capture a screen from powerpoint into PhotoShop 6.0? I want to learn how to capture screens from other applications to use as graphics within PS6. Please tell me how to do this?

Thanks in advance,
Theo.

I may be doing this the long way, but I just hit the ‘Print Screen’ button on my keyboard, then open Photoshop, create a new image, then Paste my screen shot into this. I can then crop it how I like.

and alt-printscreen gives you just the current window.

Thanks in advance,

Theo,

The print screen and alt-print screen buttons will capture things quite nicely. If you are going to do a lot of this, check out SnagIt. I used it to do most of the Curvemeister manual, which has hundreds of screen shots, and it made life much easier.

When you have the screen you want press the Print Screen button on the keyboard to get the whole thing or Alt+Print Screen to get just the active window.

In PS (or any app really) just hit the paste button to insert it. In PS if you select File and New it will create a new canvas the size of the image you have captured.

Hope this helps

yeah….atl/print screen…the go to photoshop…cntrl/N for a new file….but then i usualy up the resolution to about 150 or so as it defaults to 72. I wonder some times if this extra step actualy does any good.

Probably not. The picture has been captured at your screen’s resolution of 72. When you increase the resolution you either make the picture twice as small or let PS photoshop fantasize extra pixels.
