I have question that I assume will have a very simple answer. When I go to use my magnifying glass tool in PS7 the icon has changed from a plus to a minus. It works fine, but I have gotten used to clicking on the icon and then being able to enlarge by defaut instead of having to prsee the Alt key.
Is there a way to change this back the way it was?

Yes, when in the magnifying mode, on the options bar there is the choice between zooming in (+) or out (-)

A better way, IMHO, is to use the navigation palette. Try that. Rob

I wasn’t very clear on my question.
The default when using the magnifying glass was a plus sign (+), now when I go to use it I click on the magnifying glass in the tool bar and it is a minus sign (-). I want the default to be plus. I hope this is clearer.

You were perfectly clear enough the first time, Don.

So clear that Rob gave you the answer to your problem.

Let me see if I can expand a little bit:

With your Magnifyinng Glass selected in the Tool Palette, look up at the left side of your Options Bar. See those two small buttons? Look at the little magnifying glass icons. One has a "+" sign, the other a "-" sign. Click on the button with the "+" magnifier., and your preferred default will be restored.

You choice here will "stick", through termination and relaunch of the application.
