Sure, no prob. Obviously, select the rounded rectangle tool, set your curve to whatever, etc… Now there should be 5 different tools you can apply to the newly created rectangle, one of which is subtract from shape area. drag a box just slightly smaller (1px smaller, if you need it to be exact) inside the rectangle, and it will leave you with just a nice, hollow shape you can move, colorize, etc to your hearts content. Cheers

Try clicking the right mouse button (option key + click) and select Blending options. At the bottom of the list you should see Stroke. There you can adjust the outline as you want it.

Hope I understand THIS question (see other erroneous post by me for details). If, what you want is a rectangle with rounded corners and a 1 pixel outline ( am I correct so far?), you will need to go the Toolbox and select the Rectangle Tool (v7 & CS, as I don’t recall when Shapes came to PS). Click on the Rectangle Tool and go to the fly-out menu, choosing the Rectangle with Rounded Corners. Set your Pencil Tool to 1pixel brush and once you have drawn the Rectangle, go to Paths Palette, clicking on the tiny arrow > at the top right. Choose Stroke Path and choose Pencil. This will yield a rounded corner rectangle of the size you describe by click-dragging, and it will have a 1 pixel stroke. If you wish to fill the rectangle with a color, choose Fill Path and select a color. The color of the Stroke can also be chosen.

Hope I got THIS one right,
Hunt

You like my movies? For me, everyday is like living in a nightmare. The scripts a 12 year old with mild retardation could flop out in under a half-hour. The plot akin to a toddler fingerpainting with his own diarrhea… the horror… the horror…

Having to wake each and every morn to do Texas Ranger is like having your soul removed and castrated each and everytime the set director says "five minutes until showtime". I can’t live like this anymore. And I can’t get anyone to shave my back either.

DAMN YOU SPIELBURG!!!! WHY WONT YOU RETURN MY CALLS!!! I’M A THESBIAN DAMMIT!!!!!

But I really like that one where your truck was buried 8 feet deep in dirt and you pulled out of it like a giant ground hog!
Also I was wondering, how you can swing at a guy and miss him by a foot, yet knock him over a bar! That’s some serious swingspeed!! 😉

You’d be better off choosing Stroke from the Layer Styles dialog. Easier and editable and scalable. Also easier to keep it as a Shape and just bring Fill Opacity down to zero.

Won’t the Path application keep the rectangle as a shape too? I’ll take a look at your suggestion and try to make a comparison of the two methods.

Thanks,
