…Is there any way to put a page of typesetting (done in Photoshop) into Illustrator to end up with vector based type…and not type made up of pixels?

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

If the type in Photoshop is vector, and is maintained in the saving, it should remain so in Illutrator, though it will be rasters masked by vectors.

What version of PS? What version of Illy?

For recent versions you can simply place the PSD file in AI.

….using PS7 and ILL10….have placed PSD file in Illustrator, but the type is pixels….not vector based. It is of course vector based in PS7 when set.

Peter,

If you Save As EPS and include vectors, the text will appear in Illustrator as Vector, but not as Text. It will be converted to curves.
