Photoshop 6.0. Am moderately familiar with using it, at least for simple things, but am FAR from an expert.

I wish to superimpose a word across the front of a photo. Visualize a "wanted" poster with the word "Arrested!" blazoned across the front. Easy enough to do with 2 layers, but the problem is that my user wishes the text to be *diagonal* across it, not horizontal or vertical. This has me stumped–I can rotate the entire image, but not the single layer or the text. The angle I want is about 45 degrees or so, not 90 or 180 or 270. I saw the "transform" rotate command, but I’ve never used it, and it didn’t work when I tried to use it based on the Help.

Is this even doable? Ironically, we can do this in Word using wordart, but since that is actually two objects, the wordart doesn’t go along with the image on a copy/paste.

TIA!

Ctrl + T, then grap a corner and rotate.

You’re funny.

Bitmap graphics do not rotate very well at all. Unless it is at 90š each time.

Hmm. I did try this yesterday, and while I was able to rotate the selection box, it didn’t "stick", making me think I’d some something wrong, hence my original comment about not getting it to work. It asked me if I wanted to apply the transformation, and I absolutely did say yes, so I’m not sure what happened. In any event, I tried it now, and it worked like a charm!
