Could anyone suggest a cure to this problem please which has suddenly started to happen?: I am using Mac OSX.3.4.

When I try to import my Epson 4870 scanner into Photoshop Elements 2 (through File-Import or through the icon on the first screen that comes up when I open Photoshop), all that happens is that Photoshop crashes producing a "Report fault to Apple" dialogue box. I am using a 1999 vintage iMac 333/290Meg RAM/40G HD…

Any ideas?: I am not yet familiar with how to solve this sort of thing in OSX.

many thanks for any suggestions

When you say it started happening suddenly, do you mean it worked fine in OS X before or did it start crashuing after upgrading to OS X? Do you have the correct driver for the scanner?

Yes: it worked OK in OSX.3.4 (with no other apps. open) and I’ve not updated any drivers or apps since. This has come out of the blue… There were known issues with the 4870 drivers in OSX.3.4, but, having talked to Epson, I have updated the software from the Epson and Nusoft websites.

thanks anyway.

OK: I’ll trash the preferences. I hadn’t thought of that!

Thanks!
