I admit im not the smartest tool on the shelf.
But can somebody help me step by step .
My site at www.collectableone.com.au still cant be viewed by any other res other than 800×600.
I currently use 1028×768 and also have some people using higher res and also mac’s.
How can I make this work for all browsers.
I need help !
Many Thanks

I think there are 3 problems. 1 is that you are using straight out of ImageReady files. Pull the file into Dreamweaver and you will have an easier time working with the tables. 2. Stretching the tables does not stretch the images so you have to fill in the gaps using the same color from your image or use a filler image that is of a higher width. I also suggest doing the text in html form (Dreamweaver) instead of doing it right in ImageReady, this will cut down on the images used to create your layout and file size.
3. You need to change the first table width to 100%.

<BODY bgColor=#ffffff leftMargin=0 topMargin=0 MARGINHEIGHT="0" MARGINWIDTH="0"><!– ImageReady Slices (collectableone_page1.psd) –> <TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=100% border=0>

Cool. Should be pretty easy to set this design up for the infinately expanding table trick once you get the hang of it.

Here’s an old site I did for a friend, which is a pretty good example of Char’s advice (though the html is pretty sloppy):

http://www.nightskycreative.com/tablesample/

The table expands to the right side of the screen indefinately, and a single pixel wide strip of the menus expand with it.

You can do the same with your bottom bars.

Very cool Eric! Love the background and love men in kilts 🙂 This is a great example of the expanding table trick.

Here’s one I did for a local company using the same trick. They have since changed the front page without telling me but what can you do. http://www.onward.ca/

Hope these sites help you Craig 🙂

One of the Walker plaids. The good Dr. had a several variations scattered throughout the site, along with more than you ever wanted to know on the subject, where tartans came from, and how Braveheart was completely wrong.

I suspect there are a lot of women who don’t care about that part.

I shot the photo and came up with the logo; he supplied the musical talent (considerable) and nitpicking history. The site is down right now for a complete overhaul…when I get the time.

Actually, the tiny touch of having a middle cell expand hides the "cheat" better. Cool.

Hope these sites help you Craig 🙂
