A free video is available for download at www.fatsnacks.com.

The video covers the use of the Photoshop PEN TOOL which is by large the tool used for cutting objects out of photographs.

The video is really free. No sign ups. No emails required and no legal mumbo jumbo.

You should have a broadband connection, screen pixel resolution higher than 800 pixels wide and a sound card. The file is over 100MB in size to retain the high quality.

The ZIP file will require a ZIP FILE utility (www.download.com). A codec included in the ZIP file needs to be installed. Windows XP SP1 with all updates is suggested.

For tutorial requests, send an email request to the site email address listed there.

Granted, but it is also freakin’ HUGE… Can you attempt to compress it a bit?

I did that, just to see what the result would be. Even at the highest quality level using XVID compression and no scaling down the file size is reduced to 64 mb. The original has also no sound compression at all. O well, if you don’t have to pay upload bills….

64mb is half size.. that would do for starters….

And just for fun I redid it at about 75% quality, now I crushed the baby to 19mb

To be honest I think the 21 minutes runlength are a bit overdone too just to show how to use a facet of the pen tool. But hey, freebees… Martin, tell me to go get a life, I just spent 20 minutes compressing someone else’s tut I already have, don’t need and won’t be redistributing, just to make a point. Help, I got the usenet virus. Before I know it I’ll be furniture here. Holy Mary mother of….
