Would someone please tell me how to enter the foreign language accent marks, such as `, ~, and ^, above certain letters in Photoshop 7 text? I can do them in Microsoft Word, but PS7 doesn’t work the same.

how are you doing them in word? alt-####? if so you may need to have the num lock key on when typing the #’s. alternately you can use the char mapper util and copy paste from there.

Usually Start Button|Accessories then somewhere in there. It also gives the alt sequences.

….use the Character Map (All Programs > Accessories > System Tools) supplied by your Windows operating system – assuming you are a Windows user.
Once you have opened the Character Map, scroll to the font you are using and make sure the character you need is avaiable in that font and either copy and paste what you need or take note of the Keystroke combination – usually alt + 3 numbers you punch on the numberpad at the right of your keyboard (Keystroke: alt+0174 yields: ®).

Thanks for the help. I finally figured it out. It invoves using ASCII numbers with a 0 in front &/or Windows alt key numeric codes. If there is a way to paste the needed characters from the Windows accessories character map into Photoshop 7, please let me know. If not, at least I can enter the foreign text correctly now.

….from the Character Map, click on the symbol you want to copy and choose "Select" and then "Copy" and then paste (Ctrl+v) the characters into your Photoshop document Text layer with the Text Tool selected.
