In a recent Photoshop class, our instructor demo’d a slick way to view the appearance of the different text fonts on the screen with minimum effort.

He first selected the text layer with a double click on the T in the layer menu. Then he highlighted the font selection and used the up and down arrows to cycle through the fonts. As each font was displayed, the text on the screen changed to that font.

Somehow he was able to NOT have the screen text "blocked" so you were able to see it normally as you went through the fonts.

What switch allows you to not see the blocked text as blocked?

Hope I explained this clearly,

Dennis

I found the answer – Don’t double click the T on the type layer, just select the type layer and then click on the font window and use the arrow to go up and down.

The text will change as you scroll through the fonts.

You can also "hide" the selection. Say you want to change a sub-selection of the same text layer. If you select the text and then press Ctrl+H it will hide the selection and allow you to scroll through the fonts.

Alison,

Ctrl H is the command Stan Ashbrook used in our class. It gives more flexibility in making changes.

Thanks,

Dennis
