Getting .psd to .swf in CS Software

In the ol’ days I used to take my .psd, import it as objects into AI-10, and export the entire layout as .swf, and then import into flash.

It worked perfect …

In IR-CS … It doesn’t hold my layout … It just breaks all my objects apart … so I have to "RE-LAYOUT" the entire project …

Is there a method to stop this from happening?

Flash, with the help of QuickTime, will import .psd files.

Does it do a nice job?

Sure, but it won’t import layers, or paths.

If you are using it for the web, you will want to optimize the image first anyways, so you might as well import the .jpeg/gif.

Majicman,

Can you please turn off the Autoquote feature in your NewsReader when posting here? These are essentially web-based forums (albeit with a mirror to NNTP) and the Autoquote is exceedingly annoying to the vast majority of users who access via a web browser. Thank you.

I tired to use Quick Time to import a .psd, and it flattened the image. I need them as seperate objects with the layout created in .psd.

Can PS or AI CSdo this or not ?

Thanks,

I’m guessing not. I have been able to get AI paths into Flash, but only by using older versions of AI.

I suggest you try asking in one of the macromedia forums. There are a higher proportion of Flash users who use Photoshop, than Photoshop users who use Flash.
