Lasso gone wild

When using the point-to-point lasso, if I click off the pasteboard or try to navigate/scroll to a part of the image out of view (in the case of a magnified zoom view), the lasso will sometimes complete causing unwanted selections. If I move the mouse left or right to the edge of the current window, the view scrolls too fast and I lose control. Holding down spacebar changes to the hand, which is ok if I can stop, move and shift+click to add, but useless if I have a straight selection that continues out of the window. Is there a way to slow down the navigate/scroll?

Sandy,

When using the polygon lasso, you’re right, pressing the spacebar turns into the hand. Then you click and move your image – no point will be added to your selection when you do that, and you can continue without having to Shift Click to add.

Goes like this. Mouse click – approach edge – hold spacebar down – mouse click – drag image – release spacebar – mouse click to continue selecting.

Is there a way to slow down the navigate/scroll?

No. It’s an OS driven thing. MS actually impeded the speed of scroll in some of the office apps to accommodate this "feature".

Peace,
Tony

Thanks for confirming that I am, at least, doing it the only possible way. I had a feeling the scroll speed was contolled only by Windows control panel, but sometimes the superfast scroll is annoying.
Peace
