I use ImageReady CS2 to generate XHTML with rollovers and remote rollovers. I created the graphics in Photoshop CS2 and switched between 2 programs frequently. I found my rollover graphics were deleted or moved to a different location very frequently. The ones being deleted has a folder layer mask applied to all of them (although I don’t know if it’s related.)

Is this a bug and is there a way around this problem? I’m sure I didn’t delete or move the images to a different location.

Thanks,

I found that this layers for remote rollover are visible when accessing the rollover states of specific buttons. Wen I turn it off and in normal states, some layers are gone. I need to use these layers for other buttons, but they’re accessible since I’m in normal state. How can I get them back in normal state?

Thanks for the help,

If you create certain types of objects in ImageReady, particularly remote rollovers, then go into Photoshop and add layers or move layers, ImageReady will remember the old layer positions and the old layers; in the rollovers, the changes you made may be undone (new layers will be switched off, and layers may move to their original positions).

This is normal and intentional. If you make changes to a layer in Photoshop, use the "Match Layer Across States" or "Match layer Across All Rollovers" commands from the flyout menu in the rollover palette to keep this from happening.

I did edit in Photoshop and assign rollovers in ImageReady. It seems like ImageReady is confused ab out the changes because it went back to the previous version. All the images I added were gone. I probably should disable all the rollovers and start over again. Where is the Match Layer Across States option? I looked around but didn’t find any.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Yes, that’s correct. New layers that you add in Photoshop will be turned off in the ImageReady rollovers. You turn them on by clicking on the layer in the Layers palette in ImageReady and choosing "Match layer Across Rollovers."

You should find this in the Layers palette flyout menu (not in the Rollovers palette flyout as I said earlier).

Thanks for the instructions. I can get the old images back by right-mouse clicking the layer of the rollover state and choose Match > Current Slice/Image Map’s States. WhateverI modified in Photoshop, I will select "Match laye acroos rollovers" when switching to ImageReady. Works great.

I just found that if I change the name of a layer set where has all layers where the slices (many with the rollovers) are located in Photoshop and then edit the file in ImageReady, slice locations are lost. ImageReady does not know the locations for these slices and brings up the wrong layers up for rollover states. Since there is no "Match rollover or Match Current Slice States for Layer sets, I can’t tell ImageReady the change I made. I went back to Photoshop and named the layer set back to its old name but ImageReady does not know the correct information about layers anymore.

Looks like I need to start over. Is there a way to just ignore all the slice information so I can start from scratch?

Thanks,
