Hello,

My boyfriend’s Cannon Digital Camera captures images in a RAW format that has a file extention of *.CRW.

We were wondering if anyone out there may have written a filter or action for photoshop 7 that would allow us to import that file format into Photoshop to be manipulated.

Thanks much, Peggy Rowe

I don’t remember if PS7 do that but all I say is that PS 8 or CS do the conversion very nicely and I must say very quickly, quicker than Canon RAW converter.

CRW is Canon’s RAW format. You don’t use a filter, you import the file. Go to Adobe’s website and look for the Camera Raw Convertor. Install this and you should be able to open those files. Otherwise, you’ll have to use the software that came with the camera, make your adjustments, and save as a TIFF (or whatever).

Hi Peggy,

See if the RAW plugin is still there on Adobe’s site. Otherwise it’ll be around on the Net somewhere.

Try Adobe’s site, they are more likely to have it.

Adobe Cameraraw will do that if you are using PS 7. It cost extra but I’m not sure if it is available any more. PS 8 or Photoshjop CS has that capability built in.
