Ok I havent messed with Photoshop in a long time. Im a little rusty. Well anyway I loaded a set of text effects but when I try to load them it doesnt show them in the file I unzipped them in. It only looks for .atn files and they are like .8bf files. I think Im missing something. Either that or I just forgot. Thanks

"…Well anyway I loaded a set of text effects…"

What version of Photoshop are you using? What were these "text effects" promoted as being? Actions?

"…but when I try to load them…"

How are you trying to load them (whatever ‘they’ are). Through a drop-down menu on the Actions Palette?

"…it doesnt show them in the file I unzipped them in."

Are you saying here that you have forgotten where you saved the "de-zipped" and are therefore at a loss to navigate to them? Or, have you successfully navigated to the folder where you know they are, but they do they not appear as a valid file format in your Open/Save dialogue

"It only looks for .atn files and they are like .8bf files."

I assume that you’re saying here that when you find the files you want to load into your Actions Palette, that the files you’re looking for don’t appear as being available to load.

"I think Im missing something. Either that or I just forgot. Thanks "

Yes, you do seem rusty, and by not using generally accepted terminology and being clear with your questions, this has been a difficult question to decipher. This is why you haven’t received much help so far. To the best of my ability to figure out your problem it sounds like the files you are trying to load as actions might actually be "Layer Style" presets. If you’re working on a version of Photoshop earlier than version 7.0.x, these are unuseable to you.

If you can make another stab at describing your problem a little more clearly, you’ll ge better help. What would help is if you could provide a link to the files you downloaded, so that one of us can have a look at them to see what they actually are.
