I have a copy of Photoshop CS2 which installs on my WinXP Pro PC – but doesn’t work properly. I’ve tried every trick I know of to no avail. So, I installed it on my other PC which is a WinXP (not Pro) and it works fine. Is there any way to troubleshoot the installation so I can figure out what’s going wrong? Both PC’s have plenty of hard drive space and 512MB ram. I got the copy directly from Adobe. To the best of my knowledge, my Registry is clean as a whistle. The first problem I have is that, when the installation is done, a dialog box asks me if I want to open the Readme file. I check it off – but it doesn’t open. When I try to open a native Photoshop file, I receive a message which says the file cannot be found. My file associations are correct. Reformatting is out of the question (too many apps – would take months). I suspect the Registry might be the problem – and I’m not qualified to suspect anything else. Can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks……….
