Tenuous link to Photoshop, but here goes

I want to display digital proofs to clients using a slideshow on a CD. I want to use the highest quality, but don’t want to give the client the opportunity to save (and print) them. I’ve looked at Photoshop CS’s PDF Presentation, and it seemed ideal, in that I can apply security to the PDF file to stop printing, Copy, Paste etc.

The problem is that when the PDF file is clicked, it does the smart thing and launches the slide show, with no menu bars and a black background but…… when the show is finished, the last picture just sits there. It took a while to discover that you have to press the "ESC" key to stop. This, however takes you to the Adobe Acrobat screen where all the individual pictures can be displayed. The client cannot Copy or Print, but they can press CTRL/Print Screen, and paste the picture into paint, then save it as a JPEG. It would be better if the PDF presentation quit and closed after the last picture (it would be better still if Acrobat disabled the "Print Screen" key). DAK if this is possible, or does anyone have another utility that will bundle the photos up into one big package that will not allow the user to copy from?

I’ve never used them, but a lot of wedding photographers use these two programs: "Pictures to Exe"

"Flip Album"

An alternative that would allow you to stay within Acrobat is to add navigation buttons to the photos and have the final button being an exit button. With an album, you would probably want an automated script to do this. Sorry, I don’t know scripting (yet). You might consider farming this task out for someone to do for you. I’ve done some manual advance Acrobat Slide Shows, but we’re talking about six slides or so. Manually adding buttons are no big deal for that few, but if you have a wedding album of 100+ it could be a real PITA. Alternately, select Continuous and then the show will end with the Escape button being pressed.

Thanks a bundle Larry. The Wnsoft (Pictures to Exe) option looked so good, I bought it.

We use Pictures to Exe for our slide show presentations. You can set a time limit and also where the client can’t take a screen capture and print.
