Josh,

Here’s one way. Duplicate the pencil test layer, set the mode to darken, click on the bottom layer, and clear the bottom layer with a "Select All", followed by "Delete".

You can then draw or paint on the bottom layer, under the pencil layer, and then delete the pencil layer when you’re finished.

Assuming you can’t afford an eraser, I suggest you use a coloured pencil in a colour that you are not using in your graphic. Then you can edit out that colour easily in the relevant Channel.

Or have I misunderstood your problem?

scan your drawing as line art. then convert the image to a vector graphic either using the trace-bitmap function in flash or a dedicated app. such as Adobe Streamline. Then, if you wish, you can simply delete the fill colours or alter them to another hue. To be honest, Flash does a perfectly respectable job on line art – Just play with the settings a bit…

MC,

Thanks for that tip. I would never have thought of using Flash. Since I have them both, I’ll give it a try.

Tip O’ the hat,
