Hello All! thanking anyone for a reply! PhCS Ver8! I’m a newbie.

On my document I set the background to a colour. Now I wish to change it to transparent, but I am having trouble trying to do this. Any ideas?

Regards
Peter

If its a solid color it’s easy…if its going to be easy. If you are having trouble it might be because you are trying to do it on the background layer. Duplicate the background layer and delete everything on the background layer. Then select the color you want to delete and delete it. If this doesn’t give a clean look….like if its a person’s hair….that takes masking.

No….you cannot unmerge. I can give you an idea….but you won’t be able to do it for quite a few weeks. Go to
http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html …near the bottom is advanced masking. Using these techniques you can separate anything. These are very advanced tutorials.
