AND LEGALY SO!!!!!

The folks from Adobe came and gave us a demonstration of CS Suite Pro. I must say they did a great job at selling their product to us. Currently we only use PS 7 and deal with corel draw 11 for vector. But looks looks like we are gonna get the whole CS Suite…..and GET THIS….when i said "wow..wish i had all this at home"…the Adobe people told us that if the firm purchases the licences for us…then it is completely legal for us to have a copy to use at home! YIPPEE!!!

Heh…the weird catch is that you can not be using CS at home and at work at the same time. Well…i live alone..so i dont have to worry about someone at home trying to use my stuff while i am at work.

Pretty cool deal tho huh?

Im soooo happy 🙂

I currently have PS 7 and Illustrator 9 at home…but look forward to being fully up-to-date…and in design looks very nice…i will probably stick with Dreamweaver for my web stuff tho.

I wish i had thought of this earlier (before todays meeting)….but if any of you have major complaints or suggestions to raise over CS suite…let me know…I have a limited time to personaly ask the people at adobe stuff. (i work at a very large firm and they are selling to us hard)

True…but i have been at my job for nearly 10 years…..and unless i find something truly great i aint leaving. So i pretty safe….(oh..and my versions of PS7 and Illustrator are legit….so i am NOT trying to promote piracy….am just excited that i get the full suite for nothing).

SOOOOOO….if anyone has the suite at work…ask about this. the Adobe people brought this up today…so I am not just making this up.

If i Do quit my job tho…i am certain that i will be working in an organization that has the same software….so i am not worried.

Just sharing some good news is all.

Lucky you! 😉

Advice: PS for raster images, anything other than IR for web preparation (Fireworks is good) Illy for the vectors and Dreamweaver for web site design. Don’t be seduced by GoLive. It’s very pretty but it’s with CS that I found any use for it. The use was to take something from InDesign and send it straight to GoLive which turns it into web pages. And then I import them into DW so I can get some work done 😉

So what’s the big news? This has been part of the Photoshop license agreement for as long as I’ve used it (since version 3). It’s written in the license agreement, there is no need to ask about it. ——————————-

There is something that I don’t understand.
Why would anyone pay for software when it is all free?

Okay. I understand it is pirate stuff. But, corporations are not the conscience of our lives anymore. Remember Enron?

who said (words to this effect)

you can fool some of the people all of the time
you can fool all of the people some of the time

but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time

Translate it into Latin, add a logo and present it to Enron?

A very noble statement!
I remember Ken Lay of Enron claiming the same.

I don’t care one way or the other, really.
I only asked because I read such "desperation" within posts about needing to upgrade or additional tools and plug-ins.
Software is like university.
There are people who would like to attend classes, but can’t afford the admission. I just don’t think that money should limit opportunities at learning.
Other than that, I couldn’t care less what people do.
Maybe they are just not "desperate" enough.

Yes but are you sure the company will purchase the additional licenses for everone to run it at home? I’m not sure what a license runs for your plan but depending on how many people work where you work and how many wish they had it at home will probably determine whether they are going to spring for the extra licenses. (license= $200.00 X 50 people = $10,000 bucks they might just to decide to give that idea a pitch towards the garbage can. "jrzyguy" wrote in message

It’s not necessary to purchase additional licenses. You’re allowed to install on two machines in the standard license, but only use ONE at a time. This lets me use CS on my laptoy for portable use and on a dedicated workstation for final results.

wow…i forgot all about this thread.

Well…we havent gotten the CS suite yet…but will at the beginning of the year. and yes…it it totally legal for me to install it at home (the ADOBE people told us so!) the only catch is that i can not use it on two machines at the same time. As i live solo, i do not have to worry about a roomate using PS while i am at work.

Like i said…the folks at adobe explained the details while doing a demo for us. So i thought i would post here just in case other people might be able to benefit and get the product likewise. If anything…it was the folks from adobe who brought this to our attention.

One question tho…what happens if i leave my firm? What happens to my home license then?
