When I give the print command, I get an error message that says it cannot execute the print command because of a disc error.
I did a chkdsk /f and got no errors.
I can print the same file in other programs, but Photoshop continues to give me the same error.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Check and clean out your "Temp" subdirectories … they probably have several thousand accumulated pieces of junk files.

Are you referring to the Temp Directories in my C Drive, or to Internet files, or somewhere else?

Why would printing work in other programs, but not in Photoshop? Why would Temp files only affect Photoshop?

The directory(ies) that

(1) Where Windows it is supposed to put its ‘Temp’ directory … often something like C:\Windows\Temp … but it could be something like D:\Temp … or some other name.

(2) Where PhotoShop thinks it is supposed to put it’s swap file

You asked:
"…

PhotoShop is a totally different kind of animal than any other piece of software. There is no other currently available software that ‘stresses’ a computer more … and in more ways …. than PhotoShop. One thing that PS does *not* like is ‘left-over’ files from previous sessions in the swap file area, or many files in the system-wide ‘Temp’ subdirectory.

I’m not saying that this is the *only* thing that will cause your problem … just the *first* thing I would check.

Have you tried re-booting? Often that is a miracle cure for just about everything.
