Hi all

I am having problems in Photoshop CS 9.01 and Imageready 9.0 with rollovers.

when I saved optimised from Imageready and upload the HTML to my site, the rolovers either dont load the over image or link to the wrong image.

I have removed the slices and redone them in both Photoshop and Imageready with the same problem.

The preview in browser from Imageredy works fine.

I have removed the files from my site and then uploaded again with the same problem.

Please help

Cheers

Chris

Oh the example page is http://www.promptpc.com.au/WebServices.html I had some success on other pages but now and again had the error on different computers so i merged some text and buttons to redo them and try and resolve the error.
As you can see the problem is worse especially this page.

None of the images called in your script are in your images subdirectory:

WebServices_04_over = newImage("images/WebServices_04-over.jpg"); WebServices_05_over = newImage("images/WebServices_05-over.jpg"); WebServices_08_over = newImage("images/WebServices_08-over.jpg"); WebServices_09_over = newImage("images/WebServices_09-over.jpg"); WebServices_10_over = newImage("images/WebServices_10-over.jpg"); WebServices_17_over = newImage("images/WebServices_17-over.jpg"); WebServices_24_over = newImage("images/WebServices_24-over.jpg"); WebServices_34_over = newImage("images/WebServices_34-over.jpg"); WebServices_35_over = newImage("images/WebServices_35-over.jpg"); WebServices_36_over = newImage("images/WebServices_36-over.jpg"); WebServices_39_over = newImage("images/WebServices_39-over.jpg"); WebServices_40_over = newImage("images/WebServices_40-over.jpg"); WebServices_42_over = newImage("images/WebServices_42-over.jpg");

Upload them.

Thanks Chris

Seems when uploading with dreamweaver the dependant files didnt include the rolover files.

Thanks for your pointing it out (should have realised but frustration got the better of me).

Many thanks to Chris Havel.

Seems dreamweaver didnt include the rollovers as dependant files.

Should have found it myself but was frustrated at the time.

(I have a brother named Chris, does that count?)

When in doubt, have dreamweaver look at the remote files directly, or use a program such as Core FTP to connect to your server and look at and/or transfer the files.

The Lite version is free and supports all the functionality you need. http://www.coreftp.com/

Maybe. Is he in peril of some sort?

Good suggestions. I find, generally, taking control over file transfers makes you more aware of all the components of a site work, and better able to troubleshoot problems that pop up.

Yes I think your right if i had used FTP it would have woken me to the issue.

I now have another problem, since i viewed it on a friends computer there is a dotted line on some sides of the slice since I added the URL to the slice in Photoshop.

Is there a reason for this or would it be better to do this through an image map in ImageReady?

Cheers

On which page are you experiencing this behavior? The one you posted earlier (http://www.promptpc.com.au/WebServices.html) doesn’t appear to have this problem so far as I can see.

Ah thanks Chris thats what i wanted to hear.
I think its possibly an issue with his computer.

Now i can go finish of the rest.

I am triaining myself in CSS with Dreamweaver as the creation of sites through photoshop slices seems to be bandwidth heavy.

I did read one tutorial on making slices editiable in HTML programs but was not successful.

As you can tell i’m a relative noob at the website stuff.

Any suggestions on best way to go?

Chris
